Biotechnology is cost-intensive. It often takes many years of intense research and development until a marketable product is created.

The EC, the Federal Republic of Germany and the Free State of Saxony support these companies with a wide selection of support programs. Biotechnology has a high priority for the Free State of Saxony and the city of Leipzig. In addition to the general support programs, a support model specially tailored to small and mid-size biotechnology companies has been created. Depending on the plans and support goals, subsidies or investments are possible.
